Synopsys
Dot and Hugh find a body floating in the river. On the corpse of the girl is found a scapular of Lady of Mt Carmel, leading the investigation at Magdalen laundry where Phryne also sends to wash her clothing. Investigations into the laundry run by an icy and bigoted Catholic woman who behaves badly to the girls, especially if pregnant out of wedlock, brings Phryne and Jack to discover a human trafficing ring.
